Year Four

Home / Year Four

This is to prepare students for the Yr 5 camp. It is also used to encourage students to try different activities and start to become more independent.

The camp is the next step in the camp program that starts in Year 3. The camp starts Thursday afternoon with the students rotating through a range of fun and education activities. This is followed by dinner and a night game. The students then spend the night at school and continue the activities the next day.

Thornlie Christian College Sleepover

Our excursions are developed around the curriculum areas we are studying. For example in History, we are looking at Explorers so we visit the Shipwreck Museum and Dyfken to see how explorers traveled and the reasons why they came to Australia. The students are always so surprised that the explorers used such small ships for traveling.

STEM Projects

Sewing bags

The students have to design a bag for using as either a library bag or swimming bag. They have to decide which material is better and then after that, sew up the bag. (Parents are called in to help with the sewing machine.)

A program for our Year 3 and 4 students’ that teaches them how to have a healthy Self-esteem and esteem others as well

In addition to weekly rehearsals, students participate in numerous performances, and attend a number of focused choir workshops. In 2016, Iyo sang repertoire comparable in difficulty to some adult choirs. Watch this space!
