Year 5 Camp
A highlight of year 5 is going on camp to Point Peron, Rockingham. We will spend three days and two nights together in this beautiful area in WA. We participate in many interesting activities, such as archery, rope climbing, team games and round robin activities. We will enjoy experiencing things we have never experienced before, such as sleeping in dorms with our classmates, singing around a campfire and playing spotlight in the dark. We will also spend time on devotions as we focus on worshiping and praising God for His goodness.
Exciting challenges to test the body and mind. Hit the critical and creative thinking aspect of the Curriculum
Fishing, Technology, Cooking, Problem Solvers, Chess and much more to come in 2017
Peninsula Farm (Tranby House) and East Perth Cemetery
Our focus in History in Year 5 is the Australian Colonies. We research the history of our own state: Western Australia. Our state was first called: The Swan River Colony. During this excursion, we visit a farm which was built early in the time of the colony. We also visit the East Perth cemetery where we find many graves of the early colonists.
House captain/ Prefect election
In term 3, the house captains and prefects for year 6 will be elected. This is an exciting time where we all consider if we want to be the leaders of our school in serving the younger students and supporting the teachers.
Iyo & Imole
The Primary choirs, Iyo and Imole, are the premier performance opportunity for students in Years 3 – 6. In addition to weekly rehearsals, students participate in numerous performances, and attend a number of focused choir workshops. In 2016, Iyo sang repertoire comparable in difficulty to some adult choirs. Watch this space!
